A huge 'Well Done' to Conor Gleeson from Fifth Class who this weekend won the Ulster Championship in boxing at 'boys 11 years'. This is a great achievement and represents a lot of hard work and dedicated training.

Well done to Tyrone McCann and Michael McCann who were awarded trophies in a separate tournament in Cootehill on Sunday evening.

Congratulations to the following boys who won the Ulster Chess Finals;

Michael Mulligan (capt.), Conor McCrystal, Ryan Aughey, Dylan Maguire, Josh Maguire, Killian McAdam and Lorcan O'Rourke.

" The competition for the semi-finals started at a quarter to twelve. Those games took about an hour. When they were finished Donegal beat Cavan 3-2, and that meant they had to meet us in the final. They were a tough five games and required a lot of skill and patience from the team. In the end we won by the narrrowest of margins, 3-2. This is the second time we have won the Ulster title. Now we're off to the All-Ireland in Athlone. Last year we lost 3-2 so this year we're out for revenge." by Ryan Aughey.

Congratulations to Niall Mc Manus (1st Place) Ultan O’ Rourke (2nd Place) and Rowan Creaney (Runner Up) In the PVT essay writing competition run by the Northern Standard. The boys attended an awards cermony in the Monaghan Harps Complex on Thursday the 31st March to receive their prizes. Well done boys!

Well done to Caolan and Ryan who both succeeded in the Cumann na mBunscol Handball Finals on Saturday. The boys should be very prould of themselves.Their coach Mr. McEntee is being typically modest and gives full credit to the two boys for their victories.

A big 'Thank You' to all the members of our Parents' Association who worked so hard on our Cake Sale. They raised a massive €6801. This is a huge amount and reflects the amount of organisation and work that went into the day.

As you can imagine this money will be put to very good use around the school.

 On Saturday two of our boys won the Ulster Championships in Handball. Ryan Mooney won the U-13 singles and Caolan Myles won the U-11 singles. This is a huge achievement for the boys and our school. The boys were coached by Mr. McEntee who is so proud of them. Justas and Conor played very well and only narrowly missed out on another championship. Well done to all the boys and well done to Mr. McEntee. Now the boys go on to compete in the All Ireland Finals on Saturday in Kingscourt. 

Congratualtions to our Cumann na mBunscol handballers, Ryan Mooney, Caolan Myles, Conor McCrystal, and Justas Dambinskas, who will travel to Belfast on Saturday morning for the Ulster Finals.

Credit Union Chapter Finals- Quiz.

Congratualtions to Eoin McAdam, Darragh McCague, Jamie McHugh and Gary Stuart on an excellent performance in a very demanding and somewhat controversial Credit Union Chapter Final, held in Dundalk. Joint leaders for most of the quiz they were just pipped into third place at the finish. To lose out by one point on a national final must have been hard on the boys. As the boys leave Sixth Class they can be proud that they have represented us so well throughout their years, including a National Final in 2010. You have set high standards for quiz teams of the future. Best of Luck!

A HUGE 'thank you' to all the boys and parents who helped to make our Cake Sale on Friday such a great success. The boys certainly enjoyed the day and went home with their arms full of the toys and cakes they had bought. Some of the very lucky boys went home with their arms full of the wonderful prizes they had won.

A special thanks to the boys in the Sixth Classes who organised the Amusement Arcades. These are a big hit with the boys but take days and days of planning and a lot of hard work on the day. The boys should be very proud of themselves............the staff are certainly proud of them!

Congratulations to our U-13 quiz Team members who came 1st in the Credit Union Quiz Competition. They now advance to the regional finals.
