Frank McGinn

Well done to the team who won the Frank McGinn cup on Saturday last, 22nd October. The boys played well in terrible conditions. Having lost the toss they played against the wind for the first quarter and at the break were level with a goal and a point apiece. In the second quarter they used the wind to great advantage and scored two magnificent goals while not conceding any scores. The third and fourth quarters were tighter and our keeper and backs did well to keep out shots while the forwards made good use of every chance they had at goal.

All in all it was a terrific team game and more than one of the huge crowd of supporters commented on the way the boys played for each other. There is no doubt that their terrific passing game was the key to their success.

The Captain accepted the cup and thanked Mr. McCinna and Miss Casey for their coaching, while both coaches were quick to point out that the boys had played a great team game and deserved their victory.

Thanks to the huge number of parents, pupils, past pupils and teachers who braved the wind and rain to cheer on the boys.
