Ms. Casey's 6th class have been shortlisted as finalists for the 2011 Irish Aid Awards. Their project entitled "Health is Wealth"was done as part of the SPHE/Geography curriculum and was chosen from thousands of entries. The overall winner will be announced in Dublin Castle on the 17th of February and the whole class are looking forward to the trip.
The winners of this year's "Dear Grace" Essay Competition have been announced!
Dean from Ms. McGinn's class and Conor from Ms. Casey's class are overall winners.
They will be presented with the Dear Grace Award and a personal prize in the Helix in Dublin at a cermony to be held in February/March.
Matthew from Ms. McGinn's class is also a runner up in the competition and will receive the Dear Grace Award.
This is a great achievement for the boys as their essays were chosen from thousands of entries nationwide.
Both sixth classes cannot wait for their big day out!
The boys from our school choir did a great job singing in the Shopping Centre on Tuesday. It was great to see so many parents and grandparents coming along to hear the beautiful singing. It was also nice to here lovely comments from shoppers who found their day brightened by the cheerful voices. The boys were singing in aid of St. Vincent de Paul who do such wonderful work in our community.
Mr Mac Cinna's Fifth class travelled to Dungannon today for their second 'Hands of Friendship' seminar.
The boys spent the day in workshops with pupils from Aughnacloy, Castleblayney and Coalisland.
They had a great day and learned a great deal about conflict resolution.
They are already looking forward to their next day away.
Drumming workshop
Fifth classes are starting a drumming workshop today.
The drum classes will continue for a number of weeks.
Fifth and Sixth Class went to the Artist's Proof Exhibitiion in the Market House today.
Their guide explained lithograph printing, etching and woodcut printing, by showing various proofs of artists' printing work.
The boys even got a chance to do some printing themselves.
The School Choir have been busy practising for their upcoming performance under the guidance of Ms. Deeney
They have been invited to sing in the museum at the opening of the exhibition "Seen but not Heard", which will be held in the museum on Wednesday 10th November 2010.

The boys were presented with their shield on Tuesday 19th October.
